Newly formed with the announcement of the 2017 Heroes of the Dorm tournament, UCLA Heroes of the Storm made a splash in their first season of competition.
Formed by former Diamond League of Legends player Preston "pldl" Lau and William "Fate" Sun, UCLA HotS would add additional high ranking players to its roster, solidifying a strong team that played off of aggression and precise macro movement.
In the tournament, the team would run rampant through the group stage, going a perfect 5-0 in set play with an 8-1 overall record in a pool of 74 teams. They would then make it through to the round of 16 of over 200 teams where they lost to University of California, Irvine. Dropping down to the loser's bracket, UCLA would be officially eliminated by the Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
UCLA returns the two of the highest ranked players from its 2016-2017 roster in Lau and Sun. Heroes of the Dorm begins February 7th!
